The Proper Way to Gamble on Electronic Poker

[ English ]

Video Poker is a beloved game that can be played in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a net connection. The game rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to achieve the highest mixture of cards possible in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, apart from the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be dealt if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced enthusiasts are able to pick the most profitable ones each instance.

As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that might have been won. Further, some styles of the game give the gambler a chance to double their wins, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
